Pelham Youth Rugby coaches show the way by winning U.S. Super League Championship

Pelham coaches Chris Chapman and Neil McMillian played for NYAC's trophy winners.

The New York Athletic Club men’s rugby team won the 2012 Rugby Super League Championship in Seattle this past Saturday. The Rugby Super League is the top U.S. men’s league.

Several of Pelham Youth Rugby’s coaches had a hand in the championship. Chris Chapman and Toby L’Strange both coach Pelham’s kids and play for the Pelham Manor-based NYAC men’s team. Neil McMillian, a former Pelham coach, captains  NYAC, while Matt Persanis, Pelham Youth Rugby head coach, is assistant coach for the championship winning NYAC team.
In other good news for Pelham coaches, L’Strange was picked to pay fly-half for the U.S. national team in its match against Canada.
