Pelham high school rugby team finishes second in national championships


The Pelham Memorial High School varsity rugby team finished second in the National High School Rugby Championships. Pelham battled West End in a hard-fought, well played final that was up for grabs until the last minute. West End squeaked it 19-15.

Luke Persanis and North Westall were interviewed by influential rugby journalist Alex Goff after Pelham’s first two tournament triumps, a 24-14 win over South Doyle and a 22-12 victory over Brownsburg. The second win set up the Tier II final against West End on Saturday:
